There is one question that I am always asked: How long do you think the market for alpaca breeding stock will last?

After many years in the show ring both as an exhibitor and more recently as a judge, I have some observations on what it takes to win.

Everyone I know in the alpaca industry spends time thinking about how to market their alpacas.

Pure blood animal breeders around the world crave the ability to produce the best of their breed.

People visiting our ranch often ask me if I have a real job -- or what I did before I retired.

MISS MINNIE PEARL has a beautiful face and remarkable composition. Miss Minnie was graced with 2nd Place – Calpaca Festival 2002 and then proceded to take the Yellow Ribbon – Alpacarama 2002. This is no surpise, given that she is a daughter of multi blue ribbon winner, PERUVIAN MICROSOFT, and granddaughter of industry-famous PPERUVIAN ACCOYO CAMILIO, this gorgeous dame has just recently given birth to the prettiest female cria on our ranch — ADRIANNA. Miss Minnie Pearl is currently bred to PATAGONIA’S TRAUCO.

Microsoft is an exquisite product of the Peruvian Accoyo Camilio and Peruvian Sollocota lines. He has the most uniform fleece we have ever produced, with a CV of 14%. He is an excellent choice for producing colored alpacas with fine, uniform fleeces. His dam took 1st place in the 1998 AOBA fleece show judged by Dr. Julio Sumar. Microsoft was the 1999 AAA Futurity Yearling Breed Champion. He has shown a dramatic ability to pass on a fine fleece and low micron count to his offspring.
